These terms cover your use of IntellaType, a desktop writing app for Windows and macOS. By downloading, activating, or using IntellaType, you agree to the terms below. We’ve kept them short and readable.

Your license

Buying IntellaType gives you a one-time, perpetual license to use the app. There is no subscription and no recurring fee — the license is yours to keep, and it includes future updates at no extra cost. The license is for your personal use and activates on up to 3 of your own computers. If you switch machines, you can deactivate on one computer and activate on another at any time.

Free trial

You can use the full app free for 7 days with no credit card required. After the trial period, a paid license is required to continue using the app’s features.

Payments and refunds

Payments are processed securely by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details. Every purchase is backed by a 30-day money-back guarantee — if IntellaType isn’t the right fit, email us within 30 days of your purchase for a full refund, no questions asked.

Your writing is yours

You own everything you create in IntellaType. Your books and chapters are stored locally on your device and are never uploaded to us. You are responsible for keeping your own backups (the app’s export feature makes this easy).

AI features and third-party providers

IntellaType’s AI features are pay-as-you-go and optional. When you use an AI feature, your text is sent to the AI provider you choose (such as Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini, DeepSeek, OpenRouter, a custom endpoint, or our built-in option) so it can generate a response. AI usage is billed based on what you actually use, either through your own API key or built-in credits. Your use of any third-party provider is also subject to that provider’s terms, and we are not responsible for the content those providers generate.

Acceptable use

Please don’t use IntellaType for anything unlawful, and don’t attempt to copy, resell, or redistribute the app or your license key. The IntellaType name, branding, and software remain the property of their owner.

Warranty and liability

IntellaType is provided “as is.” While we work hard to make it reliable, we can’t guarantee it will be error-free or uninterrupted. To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for your license.
